Some observations:

When I see news about black teens shooting a white guy in the back because they were "bored" and wanted to kill someone, it is easy to think there are a few bad apples when in reality a progressive agenda of entitlement and academic indoctrination, along with bad parenting breeds this type of behavior. You do not deserve self-esteem until you earn it; self-esteem cannot be given like a trophy for participation or a grade that was not earned. Each person has to earn their own self-worth, and entitlements undermine this simple aspect. Money, stuff or fame does not bring self-esteem or worth. Our own actions do. Some illegal aliens feel they are entitled to their existence on the taxpayers’ dime, and there are countless other groups that feel they are owed as well. and in dozens of states a person gets more money and benefits living off of the sweat of the tax payers’ backs through welfare and food stamps than they would actually earning a living for themselves.

The Declaration of Independence says "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness."

All men are created equal and each has Life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but there is no guarantee in life. You are given the opportunity to make your own path in life through your own effort, whatever it may be, and while some people truly do need assistance, a vast majority do not. Why work if you can live relatively comfortably at the taxpayers’ expense is the current view of American liberty.

I know liberals and some RINOs will call me an insensitive, uncaring racist, but in a few examples below will you notice that the murders, assault with a deadly weapon with threats of murder and the man inciting racial war who works for DHS have something in common? The Wis. Woman is white, she stole from needy kids and while this is detestable for which she should get jail time, how often does the media focus on the latter, but not the former crimes? For progressives, be they liberal or RINOs, all crimes are not equal. Justice should be blind, and yet the MSM and many political or academic elites say it is white peoples fault. But then it was the progressive liberals (Democrats all) who have brought about so much harm to this country be it the KKK, abortion, Jim Crow Laws, the Black Code and many other things such as Obamacare and Dodd Frank. How many know that Obamacare care (the Affordable Care Act) was passed on a straight Democrat vote with not a single Republican voting for it?

This said, no one but Fox and conservative New Media are talking about unemployment jumping from 7.7% to 8.9% in 30 days using gov't. numbers. And everyone knows it is vastly higher than this.

With all of these examples of which there are hundreds more, liberals and progressives say it is not the perpetrator’s fault, it is the inanimate object (gun), bad life or bad parenting that is at fault.

Consider these statistics:

§ Blacks are seven times more likely than people of other races to commit murder, and eight times more likely to commit robbery.

§ The best indicator of violent crime levels in an area is the percent of the population that is black and Hispanic.

§ Blacks are 39 times more likely to commit a violent crime against whites then vice versa, and 136 times more likely to commit a robbery.

§ The death toll from murder in Chicago over the last decade exceeds the death toll of our soldiers in Afghanistan since the beginning of that war. [Handgun purchases are not allowed in Chicago.]

§ Nearly 3/4 of black children are born out of wedlock. Generations of children are being raised without fathers.

§ Academic achievement for black students is appallingly low, despite a large amount of money being spent to provide that group with educational opportunities.

Concealed carry reduces crime, period especially violent crime.

John Lott observed the impact on crime at the county level: "When state concealed-carry handgun laws went into effect in a county, murder fell by about 8 percent, rapes fell by 5 percent, and aggravated assaults fell by 7 percent."

The crime savings was so great that Lott found that if all counties not subject to discretionary concealed carry laws had been "subject to state concealed carry handgun laws and had thus been forced to issue handgun permits, murder rates [in the U.S.] would have declined by about 1,400."

In other words, guns are part of the solution to violence in this country.

Pro-victim, anti-gun ideologues suggest we do not need guns because the police serve as the guardian of law-abiding citizens. This notion is false as I have mentioned many times in the past, the police and or authorities have no obligation to protect or assist you. The job of the police is to investigate crimes and arrest criminals or to do public safety services such as issuing speeding tickets etc.

Warren v. D.C. was a 1981 Washington, D.C. appeals court case in which local law enforcement was found not liable for failing to properly dispatch and respond to a home invasion that led to three women being raped and beaten repeatedly over a period of 12 hours.

Or in Castle Rock v. Gonzales, No. 04-278
The Supreme Court ruled on Monday that the police did not have a constitutional duty to protect a person from harm, even a woman who had obtained a court-issued protective order against a violent husband making an arrest mandatory for a violation.

Cases such as Heller v. D.C. and McDonald v. Chicago established the right to keep and bear arms as an individual even though the 2nd Amendment says "The Right to Bear Arms Shall Not be Infringed."

Another case where authorities do not have to act:
DeShaney vs. Winnebago County involved a four-year-old boy’s removal from his father’s home into social service’s custody. The boy was later returned to his father, whereupon social workers documented further abuse until the boy was beaten to the point of severe mental handicap. The Supreme Court held against the mother, who petitioned on behalf of her son to have Social Services held liable for returning the boy to his father after observing abuse. The majority decision deemed the boy’s right to due process was not violated.
